Obituary For Catherine Johnson

Catherine Johnson, 87 of Memphis, Tennessee passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023, at Methodist South Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Born Monday, February 3, 1936, in Jackson, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late J B Merriweather and the late Oddie Murray Merriweather. She was a retired educator for Memphis City Schools. Surviving are sons, Johnnie Johnson(Joyce) and Kenneth Johnson(Shymiak), sisters, Eunice Black of Memphis, TN, Helen Hopgood of Chicago, IL and Betty Walker of Gary, IN; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Friday, March 31, 2023, at R S Lewis & Sons Funeral Home, 2944 Walnut Grove, Memphis, Tennessee. Funeral service will be at 12:00 PM on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church located at 491 S McLemore Memphis, Tennessee 38106.

Interment will be Monday April 3, 2023, at 11:00AM in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill Irene Road Memphis, TN.
