Obituary For Cecil Donald Booker
Cecil Donald Booker, 64 of Memphis, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
Born Monday, August 4, 1958 in Memphis, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Shannon Anderson and the late Christine Booker.
Cecil D. Booker began his career with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office in 1981. After 38 years of dedication and service, Cecil retired in the high ranking role of Assistant Chief Deputy. He was well known and admired for his expertise in firearms training and marksmanship. He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved Lisa and their Daniel along with a host of family / friends.
The family will receive friends Friday, May 12, 2023 from 10:00am-11:55am with a funeral service to follow at 12:00noon both will be held at St Paul Baptist Church 2124 E Holmes Rd, Memphis, TN 38116
Interment will be immediately following the service in New Park Cemetery, 4536 Horn Lake Road Memphis, TN 38109.

I met Cecil when I gave a Street Crimes class in Memphis years ago. He was kind enough to lead me to a Country Western Store that was miles from the training site on his own time, to make sure I was able to get a belt buckle my young daughter wanted.
