Clarence Taylor, Jr. was born December 25, 1952, to Clarence Sr. and Lula Mae Campbell Taylor.
He married his high school sweetheart, Nickie M. Taylor, on August 10, 1974, in Nesbit, MS. From their union were born three children: Daryll, Alisha, and Brandon. Clarence was a devoted father to his 3 children and loving husband to his wife of 51 years. He had a deep love for Jehovah and enjoyed sharing Bible truths with all that he met. He dedicated his life to Jehovah by getting baptized on July 21, 1979, in Memphis, TN. He faithfully served as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses until his death November 1, 2025.
Clarence was a kind and inviting person who genuinely loved people. All were drawn to his warmth, sense of humor and genuine interest in others. He made friends wherever he went, and his kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who met him. Clarence was also known for his passion for music and love of singing and performing with his beloved wife, Nickie. He was affectionately known as “The Producer” and ensured that all his talent show participants were prepared and well rehearsed. Whether through singing, or simply sharing a favorite song, or artist, music was his way of expressing joy, comfort, love, and connection.
Clarence also had a deep love for sports and spent many of his younger years dominating on the basketball court. Off the court, he was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, win or lose, always believing that “this year” would be their year.
