When I was a child, Mr. & Mrs. Mitchell were part of the village (extended family) that raised me. My memories of Mr. Mitchell range from swimming in his pool during the summers, watching him take immaculate care of his lawn, flowerbeds and house to raising three boys to men.. We (the kids in the neighborhood) knew not to walk in or across Mr. Mitchell's grass.. Mitchell was the model of a strong, black family man that will be missed by all his presence impacted..
Sincerely, The Brooks Family

Mr. Curtis Mitchell was a gentleman, a friend, a deacon, a husband and father, an educator. Dignified yet kind, impeccably dressed yet humble, he was a joy to be around. Easy to talk to, genuine and sincere, he was a true innovator. An exemplary model of all a good man could and should be, his demeanor was never strained or forced, it was simply who he was, calm and free. To the Mitchell family we are proud that he walked among us and worshipped with us too. He was one of the kindest men the world ever knew. Dedicated and devoted, generous and good, faithful and fruitful--that was him. Mr. Curtis Mitchell was not just a rock, Mr. Curtis Mitchell was a gem. Mother Doris Quinn on behalf of the Bethlehem Baptist Church Mother Board.
