Darryl Lynn Finnie was born on September 19, 1963, to the late Elder Raymond Finnie and Rose Finnie. He lived a life defined by generosity, faith, and an unwavering love for family. Darryl passed away on May 11, 2026.
As a devoted member and Deacon at Miracle Temple Ministries, under the leadership of
Dr. Benjamin L. Smith, Darryl served with humility, compassion, and steadfast faith. His
encouraging spirit and quiet strength touched countless hearts.
He is preceded in death by his son, SSG Daniel Merriweather, whose memory he carried with him always, and his sister, Carolyn Alexander.
Darryl is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Pamela Finnie; two daughters: Dr. Adrienne
Joyner (Matthew) and Iris Emory; his mother, Rose Finnie; two brothers: Bryant Finnie (Janet)
and Ronald Finnie (Shajuana); two sisters: Sandra Scott (Larry) and Karen FinnieWalker (Elder
Stephen, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Darryl will be remembered as a giving soul — someone who never hesitated to show up for
others, whether through a warm meal, a heartfelt prayer, or a simple act of kindness. His legacy
lives on in the lives he uplifted and the love he shared.
The family has scheduled a public viewing for Friday, May 22nd, 2026 from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm at R.S. Lewis and Sons Funeral Homes 3651 Austin Peay Hwy in Memphis, TN. Services of celebration will be 10 am Saturday, May 23rd, 2026 at Miracle Temple Ministries 6100 Elmore Rd Southaven, MS. Entombment will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery 5668 Poplar Ave.
