Derrick was born on August 30, 1987, in Memphis, Tennessee, to the late Gloria M. Dennis and Elvis Moffett.
Derrick accepted Christ at an early age at Greater Payne Chapel A.M.E. Church in Memphis, Tennessee. He rededicated his life to Christ on March 3, 2024, at Greater Payne Chapel A.M.E. Church, Memphis, Tennessee. Derrick was called home to be with the Lord on March 11, 2024.
Derrick attended Carver High School and graduated in 2005. He was an accomplished chef and worked various jobs, but his favorite job was being a father to his children. Derrick was a member of Masonic Lodge Hyde Park #346 P.H.A.
Derrick Purnell Moffett, Sr. leaves to cherish his memories and celebrate his life: his wife, Narkeisha; five sons, Melvin Evans, Derrick P. Moffett, Jr., Derrion N. Moffett, Sir Iyzak Charles Ray, and Maxwell Carter Jones; one daughter, yet to be born (March 2024), Derricka S. Walls; one brother, Willie James Ingram Jr.; two sisters, Marquetta Ingram and Miracle Moffett; two aunts, Lucille (Albert) Boyce and Emma (Rev. Dr. Dave) Adams; two uncles, George Dennis, Jr., and Tracy Winfrey, Sr.; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 10:00am for a memorial service at RS Lewis & Sons Funeral Home 2944 Walnut Grove Road, Memphis, TN 38111
