Gregory Cornell Archie was born in Alexandria, Virginia, to Robert Jones and Wilhelmina Ellis. Before his health began to decline, he was a devoted member of Fullview Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Walter L. Peggs, Sr. In later years, he attended Gospel Temple Baptist Church with his wife, who remains a faithful member of the congregation.
Gregory dedicated forty-two years of civilian federal service with the Department of Defense. He was a devoted Washington Redskins fan, enjoyed attending games, and was extremely fond of “The King of Beers,” Budweiser. He loved traveling with family and friends and was always the life of the party.
