To the Family of Gwenda Porter, I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of my friend. I can only imagine the brightness of her wings as she is received in the father's arms. There are too many persons, families, groups and friends who experienced the kind spirit of a beautiful spirit. It was a joy to see her back at church after being ill. I met Gwen at our church, Mississippi Blvd, and was in awe to learn that her Godmother and I were homies. When I think about the life of Gwenda Porter, I am reminded of the song: "May The Work I've Done Speak for Me, May the Life I Live Speak for Me, May the Service I Give Speak for Me.
