What a privilege to know and continue to honor Grandma Gwen's life and legacy. Although hearts may be heavy, may God grant peace, healing and understanding to all who were graced with your presence. Sending my sincerest condolences and love to my bestie Adrian, her friends, family and loved ones during this time!
I often thought of Gwen and I am so glad Adrian that you and your wife were there to take very good care of your mom. I enjoyed working in Youth Ministry with her. She will be missed.
Aunt Gwen you were a sweet soul to me and always kept me in line I didn't share with you much in your latter days but Cousin Connie always kept me posted you will be greatly missed ♥️
Growing up, I always looked up to Gwen. When I started college, she was a special education teacher. I really needed guidance as a freshman college student. When I spoke to Gwen about what area in education to focus on, she encouraged me to go into special education. She told me that if I decided to work in this area, I would never have to worry about a job. I took her advice, she was right. I ended up working 34 years and retired five years ago. I've told this story many times. She was a great mentor to me. Gwen was always family at 1814 Netherwood. We will always love Gwen.
Gwen and I were classmates at Mt. Pisgah High School where we graduated together in 1969. We shared many laughter's, visits to each other homes and church--Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church together. We worshipped together, attended Sunday School and sang in the choir. She had a much better sounding alto voice than I did, however we continued our singing together. She was a true friend, and I always admired her level of confidence, and humility. As we gather to honor our classmate, my friend, we celebrate a life that touched our hearts and left an indelible mark. A life filled with Love and Happiness and a Soul filled with Joy and Peace. Rest my friend in the arms of Jesus. What a great place to be. To the family, my condolences and prayers for Comfort and Peace.

RIP Aunt Gwen🙏🏽🙏🏽Heaven has gained another angel💕💕
My condolences to the Crawford family during this difficult time.
Mrs Crawford-Hayes was such an inspiration to her students at Manassas High School. She wore many hats then and wore them all of so well. I had the pleasure of being under her sponsorship as a majorette as well as being a part of the extravagant homecoming coronations that she use to put together at Manassas. Poise, Elegance, & Classic Class are just some of the characteristics that I remember Mrs Crawford-Hayes possessing. She always instilled in us that we were leaders and that we set the tone of our life culture. She was truly a servant leader and I'm so grateful to have known her.
