My condolences to the Whalum Family and all of Skipper's friends and caretakers. I respectfully knew Skipper as "Skip" during our days as classmates at Morehouse College, and he was a really cool brother, just a really pleasant brother indeed! May Skip reside in God Almighty's heavenly embrace and may he Rest In Peace! Also, may everybody please have comfort in your good memories of him. Thanks to you all—Todd McKenzie, a friend and classmate of Skip, in Morehouse Class of 1978.
My name name is Girard Geeter I was Skipper's roommate at Morehouse. Skipper an I lived all over Atlanta during our tenere at Morehouse. We lived in DuBois Hall as roommates. I remember one day i went to class and I came back to the room skipper had painted all kinds of absract art on the wall on my side of the wall, all kinds of different birds and plants. I had to wake up to that every morning, but then everyone wanted him to paint something on their walls. He became a celebrità, at the House and everyone wanted to see his painting. Of course all the young l ladies from Spelman came over to our room to see the painted wall. Of course that was a great way to meet many young iadies. Much love from the Geeter family.
Skipper, was a talented person from a very talented family. I will remember how much Skipper, Roy, and his entire family accepted me when my family moved onto Glenview Ave from Smokey City. His Dad always volunteered to take us swimming!! Thank you!
My brother, your journey was a testament to the glory of God. I have so many memories of us both good and bad. The most memorable day is the day your life changed and mine. That day because of you I dedicated my life to GOD. The things I use to do I willing gave up, and agreed with GOD for restoration of your life. That agreement enabled me to live a life of true faith and a real relationship with my FATHER. I came to know him as a true living GOD. That journey was and is the foundation that I stand on today. So thank you my brother for the impact that you made in my life and the joyous journey that I stand in today. Even though your physical time has ended, you are present with the LORD. HALLELUJAH. I LOVE YOU MY BROTHER. AMEN
From your Distant Family. Rest Harold 🙏🏾 & Condolences to the Family. Love has no time nor space. Later.
My Dear Cousin! You are my Hero. Life's journey has handed you many battles, but God! No matter what this life placed at your feet, you were always a Gentleman. Take your rest in Paradise Dear Cousin. Well Done Sir!
Prayers and condolences for this family God Bless you all !!!
Skipper and I attended Bellevue Junior High and Central High School. As we celebrate fifty years as classmates of 1974 this year, we will surely remember him. May God's peace be with the family on the loss of this special guy. Ms. Toni Strong
Skipper and I attended Bellevue Junior High School for three years and Central High School for three years. We are classmates in the Class of 1974 and we are celebrating 50 years this year. I am deeply saddened on his loss. May God's peace be with the family.
To Roy, Tarik and the entire Whalum family (that's a long list). You shared the life of a real fighter in Skipper. He would often walk to OBC on Southern. You could ask him how he was doing and he'd always answer "fine and you?". Now, the fight is over for Skipper and he's at rest with mom Tillie and dad Harold, Sr. His journey was arduous but he ran it with style and grace. Peace be with you all until we meet again. May all the angels and saints hold you in their hearts and embrace Skipper with open arms. Carolyn Lester Memphis, TN
