Hello Mrs. Ivy, I am a security guard at one of the factories Jacob used to pick up at. Over the past couple of years Coby and I have become pretty well acquainted. He used to talk about you all quite a bit how proud he was of his children, how much you aggrevated him, but also how much he loved you all! I actually spoke to "Jake" as I called him on the 13th, however, it was not until today the 26th, that I found out of his passing. I'm going to miss this big guy as much as you guys are.

Dear Mr. Ivey's Family,

I had the privilege of being one of Jabari's fifth grade teachers, and I was heartbroken to hear of Mr. Ivey's passing. While I didn't know him personally, I saw the impact of his love and character every day through Jabari. He spoke about his father with such pride and affection — it was clear how deeply he was loved and how much he admired him.

Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with your family, and especially with Jabari and his brother during this difficult time. I hope you can find comfort in the beautiful memories and the love that surrounds you.

Jacob, I remember us growing up together as far back as 1987, on Edgemere Court in the Whitney Chase Subdivision of the City of Black Jack. We weren't bad kids back then—but man, did we love a little mischief! Some of my favorite memories are of those days hanging out at your house—jamming to music, gaming, chilling, just being kids. We always waited until Uncle Quentin was gone, and then it was on! But when he came home early and caught your siblings and the rest of the Edgemere crew in the house... we knew we were in trouble! Back then, our bicycles were our cars, and we rode them all over Black Jack and North County—whether it was to shoot hoops or meet up with friends around town. I'll never forget when I got my first motorcycle in 1996. Uncle Quentin always had the coolest motorcycle to me, so I was glad to finally get one too. It wasn't as cool as his, but I couldn't wait for you to check it out. You said, "Man, I can drive one of these—my daddy got one," and off you went, wiggling down the road! That lady still never found out how that dent the size of a motorcycle wheel ended up in her car—LOL! Thanks for letting me pretend to be assistant manager at Kwik Lube when I was trying to impress that young lady... who would later become my wife, Quantanya. And nothing was more awesome than when you, your girlfriend, and little Jacob Jr. stayed with us until you got your own place. That was real love and brotherhood. And man—when my family and my brothers from the LOT came through, we partied like it was 1999! Through all the good times and the tough ones—growing from boys into men—you were always right there by my side. I will always cherish our memories, brother. You'll be with me, always. To Jacob's family, I am sorry for your loss. I work at Roadmaster, he would have a smile on his face everyday. The students really missed him when he left. I missed him also, we would speak to each other everyday. I just know he was a kind gentleman. Keeping you in my prayers. May God continue to give you strength for your boys.

To Mrs Ivey and Family,

I know firsthand the pain, loss, despair and loneliness you are feeling as losing a spouse is a different type of loss and I am truly sorry for your loss. Always remember Jacob LOVED you dearly and the beautiful family you both created. I am feel privileged to have witnessed that love blossom first hand back in our Comcast dispatch days! Jacob was always smiling and never had a harsh word for anyone, even if they deserved it. He will be missed.

May you be comforted by the memories you have of the precious part of your life's journey that he shared with you. God bless you and keep you lifted up. Be blessed, wrapped in God's love and favor. That's my prayer for you.

He was such a friendly guy in high school I don't remember him having any enemies he was always very polite and always said hi whenever I saw him in the hallway he will be greatly missed.
