Jacqueline Elaine Camper, 74, of Memphis, TN passed away at her mother’s home on October 22, 2025 in Memphis, Tennessee.
Jacqueline was born on June 23, 1951 to Booker and Ardella Camper in Memphis, Tennessee.
Her visitation is on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at R. S. Lewis Funeral Home from 2PM to 6PM; Funeral Service will be held at the grave site on November 6, 2025 from 11:00AM to 11:30AM at the New Park Cemetery; and Repast will commence at Noon on November 6, 2025 at the Church of Christ, 66 E. McKellar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38109 where she was an active member.
Jackie grew up in a large family of five (5) children, three (3) boys and two (2) girls; she was an aesthetic and had exceptional art skills from birth.
Because of her inner perception and creative vision, she entered the University of Memphis and swiftly graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts & Communication • (BFA) University of Memphis and pledged Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., in Memphis, Tennessee and later received a Master of Education (M Ed) Freed-Hardeman University, Henderson, Tennessee and secured a teacher’s license because she loved children.
Jackie taught in Mid-South Schools (Memphis-Shelby County, Arkansas and Mississippi) where children merited Art Awards under her supervision.
Her passion was the game of Scrabble where she became a world-wide Scrabble professional and traveled throughout the country participating in Scrabble Tournaments and Championships.
However, Jackie is noted for many of her art works. Her most notable painting is “Three Kids on a Bike.”
Jackie was truly an artist and guarded her work and achievements dearly to her heart.
She was baptized at an early age and received Jesus as Lord and Savior.
She is preceded in death by her father, Booker Sr., Mother, Ardella Camper, brother, Larry Ellis Camper.
She is survived by her brothers Booker Jr. and Jarvis and Jewel (Twins). A host of nephews and nieces and grand nephews and nieces.
