James was a motivater to this degree; he always wanted me to have the best opportunities that life had to offer. I remember when he set me and Corey up on a date for his prom. I remember when he did not want me to marry my 1st husband but he yet supported me &offered to buy my wedding dress and give me away as a father would his daughter. But he threatened him and told him don't make me used my pistol πππ he also predicted it was not going to last because he was not the right one. He enjoyed my cooking and especially when I would make desserts. So he said Connie you need to go to culinary school and I did just that. Oh wow but the best memory I have is when he gave David, Pumpkin, my brother Harold and me the keys to his vehicle and as tight as he was with money he gave us $100 a piece so we could go to the fair and we had a ball. But the next day he was shaking his head and fussing at all of us about his vehicle and his money. Saying he thought he gave us $20 and we were laughing so hard he told us we owe him and we had to work for him to pay his money backπππ but it was always entertaining spending time with him. James knew everyone. He took me to my first official job@Fedex but he gave me my first job working at his corner store Carlton's Sundry. He showed up to the hospital when I had my first child a week a part from Pumpkin. He showed up to my first house warmer and gave me stainless steel pots and pans. He even went to a concert with my mom & my husband now (Samuel McNeal) and me to see Bobby Womack, Isley Brothers & Maze . He enjoyed himself until some woman started grabbing on him telling him he going home with herπππ My last conversation with James is when he called me while he was in the VA hospital asking me to tell the nurse to get out of his room because she didn't know what she was doing and he didn't want her in his room. I tried to calm him down and let him know they were there to help him but James was determined to get them out of his room. He will be missed because he was loved and respected β₯οΈππΌfor who he was & how he was!!!
