Jewel Christine Phillips, 82, of Memphis, TN passed away on May 18, 2026 at Houston, Texas. Jewel was born on May 2, 1944 to Tommie Becton and Esther Settles Becton in Arlington, Tennessee. She is survived by one daughter, Dorcas Benson of Houston, TX; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Jeraldine Becton-Caraway and Tommie Earl Becton. She is preceded in death by her parents, Tommie Becton and Esther Settles Becton. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 29th, 2026 from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm at R.S. Lewis and Sons Funeral Home 2944 Walnut Grove Memphis, TN. Funeral services will be on Saturday, May 30th, 2026 at 12:00 PM in the Prince of Peace Baptist Church 4238 New Allen Road Memphis, TN 38128. Burial will take place on Tuesday June 2, 2026 at 11:00AM at the West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery 4000 Forest Hill Irene Road Memphis, TN 38125.
