Obituary For Juanita Renfroe

Juanita Jones Renfroe was born February 3, 1934, to the union of the late Fred Milton Jones and Bessie Merriweather Jones in Hernando, Mississippi. She accepted Christ at an early age.

Sister Renfroe united with the late Sidney E. Renfroe, II in 1952.

Mother Renfroe was a faithful member of the Mother’s Board until her health began to decline.

Prior to the Mother’s Board, Sister Renfroe served as a member of the The Missionary Board and The Sanctuary Choir. Mother Renfroe retired from Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, after working in several areas (The 12 Unit and The ICU) for 31 years.

Mother Renfroe was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sidney E. Renfroe, II, who passed away on June 15, 2007, and her cherished son, Sidney E. Renfroe, III. She was also preceded in death by her three sisters, Bernice Mason, Dorothy Goodman, and Freddie Jones, as well as her four brothers, Merriweather Jones, Milton Jones, Claude Jones, and Lavon Jones.

Mother Juanita J. Renfroe leaves to cherish her loving memory: six children, Wayne E. Renfroe, Sr. (Valerie) of Dallas, Texas, Deborah Renfroe Adams of Memphis, Tennessee, Timothy L. Renfroe, Sr. (Brenda) of Memphis, Tennessee, Dr. Wanda F. Bell (Ricky) of Miami, Florida, Demetria E. Renfroe of Memphis, Tennessee, and Letitia F. Swain (John) of Brighton, Tennessee; daughter-in-law, Brenda J. Renfroe (wife of Sidney E. Renfroe, III) of Memphis, Tennessee; five sisters and brothers, Ernestine Moore of Memphis, Tennessee, whom Mother Renfroe took great care of, Luke Jones (Lender) of Memphis, Tennessee, Brenda Coppage-Murdock (Jerry) of Wichita, Kansas, Ralph Jones (Gwen) and Trenna Jones (David) both of Memphis, Tennessee; her grandchildren, whom she helped raise, LaShelle Renfroe, Shavette Brown, Lorenzo Renfroe and Desirae Horton; her niece and nephew who she also helped raise, Darrell Thomas and Karen Singleton; twenty-five grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family will receive friends Thursday, June 13, 2024 from 6:30pm-8:00pm at RS Lewis & Sons 2944 Walnut Grove Road, Memphis, TN 38111. Celebration of Life will be held at Friday, June 14, 2024 11:00am at Pentecostal Temple COGIC 229 S Danny Thomas Blvd, Memphis, TN 38126.

Internment will be in New Park Cemetery 4536 Horn Lake Rd, Memphis, TN 38109
