Larry Earl Bland Sr, 76, of Memphis, TN passed away on March 15, 2026 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Larry was born on January 2, 1950 to Joe C. Bland and Edith Bland in Memphis, Tennessee. He leaves to cherish his memories 2 daughters, Gwen Cookie Bland, Camilla Bland, 1 son, Larry (Shandra) Bland, Jr. 2 grandchildren Judstin Bland, Sr., Caleb Stone, 2 great grandchildren Judstin Bland, Jr & Jooni Bland and a special son Mario (Jessica) Anderson.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 27, 2026 from 4:00pm-6:00pm at RS Lewis & Sons 3651 Austin Peay Hwy, Memphis, TN 38128. Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 28, 2026 11:00am at Greater New Liberty Baptist Church 250 E Raines Rd, Memphis, TN 38109.
Burial will be immediately following in Forest Hill East Cemetery 2440 Whitten Road, Memphis, TN 38133.

Condolences to the Bland family. I have known this family for over forty years started going to his shop when I was seventeen years old. Never met a more loving and kind person with such barber master skills. A family man that treated me just like I was one of his. He would always Jan Jan how you doing made sure I parked on the lot and not on the street supported the Smith family just like we supported him. We are going to miss that loving spirit and sweet peck on the jaw. Bland Barber and Beauty Shop will always be home cause you left in great hands. We will forever support Jr and Cookie. Yall will always be my extended family from my boys first haircuts and my first jerri curl I have been coming to Blands since I was 18 and I am 62 now yall's dad gave me my first ever perm and it was a curl. Mr. Bland, you will be missed. I have so many pleasant memories of you. You were not only my husband's barber, you gave both my boys there first hair cuts. I still reflect on those pictures each year they celebrate a birthday. What a priceless memory. You were one of the smoothest senior man I've known. I remember dancing with you over the years... I was so jealous that I couldn't step like you! You and your children have always been there for me and my family. Cookie and Jr. I am hear for you all. Love you all. God has spoken. He won't return to us but we will one day go to him. To God be the Glory!

I feel like I've lost a part of my family. I've known yall for at least 43 years. Larry was always the same. Very respectful and honest. Memphis has lost a great one. Take comfort in knowing that your Dad knew who held his future. He was our friend for real. We will Always remember him. Rest on LB.

Larry and I were best of friends he was my Barber for 65 years or more he would open his shop for me anytime between 0530-0600 So my friend you rest you lived a good life the world doesn't own you anything .So Rest my friend Rest.To the Bland family I'll always love and pray for you .
Mr. Bland was one of the Father's in the French Fort Neighborhood who helped raised us. Thank you Mr. Bland for your words of wisdom. I remember introduced to the Chicago Style Stepping. Once you got you was smooth on the dance floor.
I've known Mr. Bland and his family for almost 30 years. He & Larry Jr are both my barbers. These 2 gentlemen and Cookie are literally like family to me. My heart is broken but knowing that Mr Bland is in a better place is a comfort for all that loved him.
