Obituary For Marilyn Cox
Marilyn Cox was born in Memphis, Tennessee on October 21, 1960, to the late Eddie Lee and Lizzie Mae Cox, who have preceded her in death. She departed this life on June 27th at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis,
Tennessee.
Marilyn attended Lester Elementary and Tech High
School in Memphis, Tennessee. Marilyn obtained her Cosmetology License and was a hairstylist for forty-one years. In addition to her love for doing hair, she loved singing and attending church.
Marilyn leaves to mourn her precious memories: One
daughter, Sholonda Cox-McNutt (Terence (deceased); one
son, Marcus Johnson. Four grandsons, TJ McNutt, Nigel
McNutt, Donavan McNutt (China) and Sherrod McNutt.
Eight great-grandchildren. Three brothers, Eddie Lee Cox
(Bae-Bro) of Indianapolis, Indiana, Keith Cox, and Llyod
Cox. Three sisters, Sharon Knowles, Yvonne Scurlock, and
Yvette Biggs, all of Memphis, Tennessee.
Marilyn leaves a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and
friends that loved her dearly.
The family has scheduled a public viewing for Thursday July 6, 2023 from 4pm until 6pm. Service of celebration will be Friday July 7, 2023, 12pm both at R. S. Lewis and Sons Funeral Home 3651 Austin Peay Hwy. Burial will follow in New Park Cemetery 4536 Horn Lake Rd.

To the family and friends of Marilyn Cox always cherish the fond memories of time spent together and although you may grieve the Bible can be a source of comfort. At (Revelation 21:3,4) it speaks of a time when there will be no more sickness or death, also at (Acts 24:15) it speaks of a resurrection that we all can look forward to. May the peace and love of the God of all comfort be with you all. Comfort can be found in our Creator through prayer and through his word the Bible and in our Savior Jesus Christ.
