Mr. Mark E. Bynum, Sr., transitioned peacefully on Monday, April 17, 2023, surrounded by family while in Baptist East Hospice. Mr. Bynum was born May 21, 1968, in Memphis, TN, to the late Geraldine Bynum and living Claude E. Bynum, Jr. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, where he attended as a young man. Living in Memphis, TN, his entire life, he attended Woodale High School. When lifted in spirit, his voice and laughter could be heard from miles away. He loved to barbecue, joke and make the people around him laugh. He will be sadly missed and will always hold a place in our hearts.
Mark is survived by: his wife of 28 years, Tara Bynum; his son, Mark E. Bynum, Jr., who took exceptional care of him; two stepdaughters, Tiffany Burks and Latrice Kennon; six grandchildren by the girls; his father, Claude E. Bynum, Jr.; siblings, Ms. Michele Y. Grace of Atlanta, GA, Ms. Paula D. Grace, Mrs. Stephani Brown (Cecil), Claude O. Bynum (Carla), and Gerald V. Bynum (Gail), all of Memphis, TN; half-siblings, Charlotte Bynum Brooks, Carlton Porter (Paula), and Monica Bynum, and many wonderful nephews, nieces, and cousins.
The family will receive friends Saturday, April 22, 2023 for a memorial service 12:00noon at RS Lewis & Sons 2944 Walnut Grove Road, Memphis, TN 38111
