Maurice Jones, Sr., 70 of Memphis, Tennessee died on Monday, July 11, 2022, at his residence in Memphis, Tennessee.
Born Monday, December 3, 1951 in Memphis, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Scipeo Jones and the late Ressie Norfleet Jones.
He served as a PFC E-3 in the Army from 1971 until 1973.
The family will receive friends Friday, July 15, 2022 from 4:00pm-6:00pm RS Lewis & Sons 2944 Walnut Grove Road. Funeral service will be Saturday, July 16, 2022 11:00am at Mt Vernon Baptist Church
Interment will be Monday, July 18, 2022 11:00am in New Park Cemetery, Memphis, TN.

My name is Alexus but Goddaddy Maurice always called me Mercedes. He was the dominant male figure in my life growing up and I loved my experiences and memories in his home! I will never forget you ever Goddady! I'm crying! I love him so much and will miss him so much. He inspired me so much and I will continue to shine that same light until we meet again. I love you so much Goddaddy. God called you home.
My husband Jason Farmer met Maurice when he joined Mount Vernon. Maurice was a faithful deacon, husband, and father. I enjoyed getting to know Maurice when I became a member in 2013. He was funny and a wonderful role model. He will be missed . Praying for the family 🙏🏽
May God comfort the family at this time. Maurice was such a joy to work with at Kimberly Clark. May he rest in the arms of Jesus.
