My sympathies for Melissa's family and friends. I worked with her for many years at IP. She had a great laugh that I will always remember. Such a wonderful friend. Thoughts and prayers to all.

I've had the privilege of working with Melissa at International Paper over the last 20 years. Melissa was truly a wonderful co-worker & servant of God. We are definitely going to miss her smile & her light in our building. My wife & I send our sincere condolences & prayers to her husband, Mario as well as her family & loved ones. When I think of Melissa, one word comes to mind: anchor. In our doctoral program at Belhaven, she was the one who grounded us. When the deadlines piled up, she brought perspective. When discouragement hit, she offered encouragement. And when we needed it most, she gave us laughter that lightened the weight we carried. Melissa made us better—not just as scholars, but as people. Her kindness, her wisdom, and her steady presence shaped our team in ways that will outlast any paper or dissertation. We honor Melissa by continuing this journey with the same strength, faith, and love she showed us. Her memory will continue to steady us in the days ahead.

Melissa, was our anchor and our beacon of light. She had a way of bringing people together. Her infectious smile and way her presence just illuminated each room she entered is something that I will miss. Our team will not be the same without her. Our chain now have a missing link but her memory will forever burn within our hearts and our souls. My heart is shatter and my soul is crush, however, I know that she is resting in the arms of our Lord and Savior. Rest in eternal peace and love my sweet friend and classmate.
