Obituary For Patrick Rice

Patrick Cortez Rice was born December 3, 1963, to Thelma McKinnie and the late Robert McKinnie Sr., in Memphis, Tennessee.

God blessed Thelma with Patrick for sixty years, but called him home on Monday, December 4, 2023.

Patrick was a graduate of Northside High School in Memphis, Tennessee. He was a retiree of the City of Memphis, where he was a dedicated and outstanding employee.

Patrick loved his family, and he always enjoyed spending time with them.

Patrick leaves to cherish his precious memories: his loving mother, Thelma McKinnie; one daughter, Kiara Danielle Rice; one son, Cortez DeShun Rice; two brothers, Dr. Robert McKinnie Jr. and Donald Ray Rice; two sisters, Shirley Marie Murphy and Dellasha Laird; three stepsons, Kendrick Hobson, Octavious Williamson, and Brandon Hobson; six grandchildren, Karma Hobson, Zoey Hobson, Harmony Hobson, Brandon Hobson Jr., Kristopher Williamson and Hailey Hobson; and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Reginald Durrell Rice.

We love you, Patrick “Pat”, but now you are resting with the Lord.

The family will receive friends Friday, December 15, 2023 from 4:00pm-6:00pm at RS Lewis & Sons 2944 Walnut Grove Road, Memphis, TN 38111. Celebration of Life will be Saturday, December 16, 2023 11:00am at Ellis Grove Baptist Church 3506 Macon Road, Memphis, TN 38122.

Internment will be in New Park Cemetery, 4536 Horn Lake Road, Memphis, TN 38109
