Renard L. Stanley, Sr. was born on January 12, 1966, in Memphis, Tennessee, to the late Permelia Stanley. As the youngest of eleven children, he was affectionately known as “the baby” of the family and was dearly loved by all. He was preceded in death by his mother, Permelia Stanley; three brothers, James R. Stanley Jr., DeLeon Stanley Sr., and Rev. Marvin Stanley; and two sisters, Sylvia Shoffner and Allene Stanley. At an early age, Renard accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at Pearly Gates Missionary Baptist Church. He later united with Brown Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Bartholomew Orr, where he continued to grow in his faith. Renard began his career at an early age, demonstrating a remarkable work ethic that remained with him throughout his life. He retired from FedEx after 34 years of dedicated service as a Flight Scheduler. Throughout his career, he also served with the United States Postal Service and the Internal Revenue Service. At the time of his passing, he was faithfully employed by WK Kelloggs, where he continued to exemplify professionalism and commitment. More than any title he held, Renard treasured his role as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren, creating memories that will forever be cherished. He loved traveling with his wife, Gwendolyn, and looked forward to hosting and attending family gatherings where laughter and love were always plentiful. Whether enjoying a live jazz performance, watching classic television shows, or relaxing with a sporting event, Renard found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Although he enjoyed sports, he never claimed a favorite team—he simply loved the game.
On Thursday, June 25, 2026, Renard peacefully answered God’s call and entered into eternal rest, surrounded by the prayers and unwavering love of his family. He leaves to cherish his precious memory and celebrate his remarkable life, his loving wife, Gwendolyn Stanley; his devoted children, Ashley Stanley, Porsche (Wendell) Simmons, Renard (Tamesha) Stanley, and Carmen Stanley; three bonus children, Tracey (Casey) Chatman, Courtney Shaw, and Kyla Banks; four sisters, Deborah Ector, Nancy (Tommie) Fifer, Yvonne (Reginald) Douglas, and Sereta Stanley; one brother, Edward (Roselee) Stanley Sr.; fifteen beloved grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and cherished friends who will forever hold his memory in their hearts.
A Life Well Lived
Renard’s legacy is one of unwavering faith, quiet strength, steadfast dedication, and unconditional love. Though his earthly journey has ended, the lessons he taught, the love he shared, and the memories he created will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him.
