Thelma McKinnie, 82, of Memphis, TN passed away on May 24, 2026 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Thelma was born on August 15, 1943 to Sylvester Rice Sr and Edna Williams Rice in Senatobia, Mississippi. She is survived by two sons, Robert McKinnie Jr (Martene) and Donald Ray Rice of Memphis, TN; seven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and eleven siblings, Ada Smith, Charles Rice (Brenda), John Rice (Brenda), Doris Stitt (Cornell), Jacqueline Rice, Annie Rice, Mary Ann Reeves, Curtis Rice (Brenda), J. C. Rice (Evelyn), Silvester Rice (Willie Eva), and Willie Rice. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester Rice Sr. and Edna Williams-Rice. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 5th, 2026 from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm at R.S. Lewis and Sons Funeral Homes 2944 Walnut Grove Road Memphis, TN. I knew Thelma only for a short time in my young life and she was a beautiful spirit and beautiful person, and she still look real beautiful on this home going photo.
