Mr. Tommy Lee White “Tom Cat” as he was fondly and affectionately called by his friends was born October 24, 1949, to the late Clarence and Lula Lee White.
Tom was one of nine siblings; Sidney Brown and Edith White preceded him in death.
Tommy attended Booker T. Washington High School in 1968 and was a true “Warrior”. He was a loyal employee of Fogelman Properties for twelve years, worked in landscaping for eight years, was then employed with Village Green Apartments in the grounds keeping department for ten years, and finally worked for John Landscaping where he retired after five years.
Tommy leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife of 39 years, Lena Mae White; two brothers, Willie White and Henry White of Memphis, Tennessee; four sisters, Louise Collins, Lois Hall, Catherine Sanders and Carolyn Walls of Memphis, Tennessee; two children, Anthony Chaney (Venus) and YeKenia White; four sisters-in-law, Emma Bonds, Rosie Mae Bonds, Joletha Abram (Ernest); one brother-in-law, Geroge E. Bonds; sister-in-law, Jennette Shaw (Raymond); ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, his aunt, Gracies Brown, all of Memphis, Tennessee; a special friend and brother-in-law, Ernest Abram; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends Friday, August 2, 2024 from 10:00am-11:55am with a Celebration of Life to follow at 12:00 noon both will be held at RS Lewis & Sons 374 Vance Ave, Memphis, TN 38126
