His Life

William Henry Stewart, Jr., was born June 8, 1973, to Regina Mayweather and William Henry Stewart, Sr., in St. Louis, Missouri.

Shaft, as he was affectionately known, was raised in Memphis, Tennessee, by his mother, Mrs. Edna Pilgram, who preceded him in death.

His Love

Shaft was a very loving man. He loved children dearly, and family was everything to him. He was always there to help give a helping hand. Shaft never missed a family member’s party!

His Legacy

Shaft will be missed dearly! His memories will live on through his fiancé, Shunda Johnson; sons, Tylor Stewart, Charles Johnson, and William H. Stewart, III; daughters, Mar’Shel Stewart and Marie Stewart; sisters, Viola Donegan and Sharmell Willis of St. Louis, Missouri, and Patra Stewart Graham of Biloxi, Mississippi; brothers, Anthony Ramsey, Jackie Mayweather, Sam Mims, & Shan Mims, all of St. Louis, Missouri, Jessie Taylor, Stephen Sangster, Alfred Stewart, Gregory Ramsey, and Terry James, all of Memphis, Tennessee; aunts, Earline Stewart, Mamie Jackson, Sheila Ramsey, Wanda Ramsey, and Linda Ramsey; and his uncle, Paul Ramsey.

He was preceded in death by Martha Ramsey, Eva Stewart, George Stewart, Mikel Ramsey, Wilmer Ramsey Mattie, Nikki Stewart, Mary Jackson, Percy Stewart, Jessie Stewart, Lonnie Stewart, and Frankie Stewart.

The family will receive friends Saturday, October 14, 2023 2:00pm for a memorial service at RS Lewis & Sons 2944 Walnut Grove Road, Memphis, TN 38111
