Obituary for Joseph "Sterling" Avent
S. Jones F. and C. has been given the solemn duty to announce, that Mr. Joseph Avent affectionately known as “Sterling” is no longer troubled with the cares of this world, but he is now resting among the Heavenly Host. Mr. Avent, 74, of Rocky Mount, NC began his life of everlasting peace on Thursday, October 24, 2019 in the medical facility of UNC Nash.
The Services honoring Mr. Avent legacy will begin with a visitation 10 am until the start of the Loving Farewell Ceremony beginning at 11 am, Wednesday, October 30, 2019 in the sanctuary of the First Calvary Baptist Church, 823 Beal St, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
Following the services in the sanctuary, Mr. Avent's earthen vessel along with his cherished family will be escorted to the Pleasure Hill Church Cemetery for Interment Rites.
