Veronica "Roni" Dancy
July 21, 1953 ~ October 15, 2025 (age 72)

The book of Psalms 84:10 resonates with a profound truth: "A single day in your courts is more precious than a thousand spent elsewhere. I would willingly serve as a doorkeeper in the house of my God than inhabit the tents of wickedness." With heavy hearts, S. Jones F. and C. bear the sorrowful news that Veronica Ann Dancy, lovingly known to many as "Roni" and to some as the sweet-natured "Tender Roni," has traded her usher's uniform for a white robe in glory. On October 15, 2025, she departed from this world, succumbing to the gentle embrace of death after enduring injuries from a tragic automobile accident.

The heartbreaking task of planning the Celebration of Life Services for "Tender Roni" has been finalized by the family and will proceed as follows. A visitation will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm, Friday, October 24, 2025, at the chapel of the S. Jones Funerals and Cremations, where the family will gather to greet their many friends and acquaintances as they remember the life of "Roni".

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 pm, Saturday, October 25, 2025, in the sanctuary of the Morning Star Baptist Church, where she served faithfully on the usher board.

Interment will take place in the church cemetery.
