Melvin Alfred Williams, age 51, of Mobile, Alabama, passed away on May 27, 2026. He was born on September 11, 1974, and lived a life that touched the hearts of all who knew him.
His remains may be viewed Friday June 5,2026 at the Bell - Miller Memorial Chapel of Samuel Jackson Mortuary from 2pm until 5pm.
Melvin was a man who knew how to enjoy life, Melvin had a deep love for sports and could often be found playing cards or trying his luck at the casino. Whether cheering on his favorite team or sharing laughs around a card table, he had a gift for bringing people together and making every moment memorable.
Melvin survived by his devoted companion, April Hollins of Mobile, AL; one son, Melvin A. Williams, Jr. of Phoenix, AZ; and one daughter, Ava Williams of Mobile, AL. He was also a proud grandfather to three grandchildren: Savea, Major, and Sofia Williams of Phoenix, AZ. He leaves behind four sisters: Kathryn Petite, Tyra Williams (husband William Turner) of Flint, MI, Kimberlyn Goodwin of San Antonio, TX, and Sophia Williams of Mobile, AL; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends whose lives he enriched.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Denise Goodwin; his father, Henry Lee Williams; his grandmother, Margie Goodwin; and his grandfather, Jacob Goodwin.
Melvin will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of those he loved.
