a native Mobilian the youngest of five siblings. Educated in the Mobile County Public School System where he was a Red Raider alumni of Benton Cato Rain High School Class of 2012. He was a top scholar ranked in the top 10 of his class. He was also a member of the Varsity Football Team. PJ loved Rain so much he went back to volunteer his time as an Assistant Coach with the Football Team. He went on to continue his education at Bishop State Community College where he was on the Dean’s List several times receiving his Associate Degree in Diesel Engineering. PJ loved his children and his family. Family was everything to him as he often told family members that he loved them. He was kind and had the biggest brightest smile that always lit up the room. If he was your friend, he was your friend to the end, and he made sure that you knew it. At the time of his death he was gainfully employed working construction providing for his children.
PJ was preceded in death by his great grandmother, Rose Lee Pettway; grandparents, Curtis and Elnora Pettway-Pringle; grandfather, Reverend Alex Mc Gadney Jr.; uncles, Tashjaun Sowels and Samuel Pringle.
PJ leaves to cherish his memories loving and devoted parents, mother –Missionary Kishad (Minister Franklin) Mose and father – Xavier (Michelle) Portlock Sr.; three loving little ones, Zyon, Zyria and Lyndon Tabb; five sibling, Joshua, Sheleeshia (Quinton) Sowels, Shiquel Sowels, Ashley (Roderick) Pettway and Twaine Grant; grandmothers, Daisy Mc Gadney and Ruth Mose; seven aunts, Dishon Sowels, Kathy Sowels , Cynthia Sowels, Simone (Eugene) Robinson, Los Angeles County CA, Angela Richardson, Norfork, VA, Margo (Keith) Turner and Alexia Major; one uncle, Robert Sowels, Los Angeles, CA; and a humongous host of other great aunts, great uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, the RHS Class of 2012, other friends and the entire Bush Avenue Family.
His remains will lie in state Saturday May 30, 2020 @ 10am until 11am Homegoing Celebration from New Harvest Ministries ( 1126 Hutson Drive) Mobile, Al 36609. Interment will follow in Whispering Pines Cemetery.
