Obituary For Ms. Zeatherine Moore

Mrs. Zeatherine Leona Gibson Moore was born in Fontainebleau Mississippi on August 8,1931 to her proud deceased parents Mr. Joe and Sarah (Winston) Gibson. Later the family moved to St. Elmo, Alabama where she resided until death at her home. Zeatherine Moore departed this life on June 8, 2024, in St. Elmo, Alabama at the age of 92. Zeatherine wore multiple hats and had multiple names such as Zeff, Mugh, grandma and Old Lady. She was preceded in death by her devoted deceased husband for 65 years Andy Moore, two sons Julius Moore and Willard Moore two brothers, Joe Gibson Jr, Amos Gibson and one love sister Cornelius (Gibson) Bell. Zeatherine Moore accepted Christ at a young age and was united with New Welcome Missionary Baptist Church where she worked faithfully as a server for God. Zeatherine kept a smile on her face as she followed God’s Commandment throughout her life loving her neighbor as herself. Zeatherine Moore surrendered her service throughout her life working as a Sunday School teacher, choir secretary, community cemetery secretary and committee leader, New Welcome Missionary Mission’s Department secretary, usher and wherever needed in her church and community for St. Elmo and the surrounding communities. Mrs. Moore was identified as a virtuous woman who loved the Lord, her husband, family and all God’s people. She graduated at Central High School in Mobile, Alabama. Zeatherine hobby was giving, sewing, singing, decorating flowers. She leaves behind to cherish her memories her four loving daughters, Shelley (Jimmie) Mitchell (Theodore, Alabama), Vanessa Thompson, Shavere (James Clyde) Morrisette, Anita (Michael) Burks all of (Saint Elmo, Alabama). Two sons Terry Moore (Grand Bay, Alabama) and Gregory Moore of (St. Elmo, Alabama). Also, She leaves behind her 13 precious grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, one godson Mike Moss, one niece whom she helped raised Celestine Rankins; two sisters, Myrtle Rankins and Lauretta Johnson, one brother-in-law Robert Johnsons and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 1pm from New Welcome Missionary Baptist Church of Irvington with Pastor Darryl Riley, Officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Elmo Cemetery.
