To: Ms.Doris, Brad, Tammy, and the family. I talked to Gerald just a few weeks ago. My heart was shattered when I learned of his passing. He expressed how his faith in Christ had grown tremendously. The highlight of our conversation was focused on "THE GOODNESS OF GOD". I was excited to reconnect with Gerald last year. We spoke several times but our last conversation was sacred. We did not know it would be the last time but God knew. I prayed for him before we hung up. God makes no mistakes. Even when we don't understand, HE'S always right there with us through thick and thin. Take your rest my friend. Job well done and yes... you finished early!! May your soul REST IN PEACE!! We love you!!
Sincere Sympathy and Heartfelt Condolences to the Starks family during this difficult time of Gerald's passing. Prayers for the family from me and my son. Marguerite

A brilliant and beautiful soul that loved the Lord, loved his fellow man and wanted to bring positive change to any atmosphere that he was placed. Gerald was truly a light. So thankful that our paths crossed. You were and will remain a blessing to my life and the lives of my sons. Rest well.

My Sincere Condolences to the family.🙏🏽
Gerald, taught me so much about radio programming. When I first came to Cumulus Media nearly 20 years ago, my main focus was being Webmaster for all the stations and later becoming Promotions Director. But I wanted to learn more about programming, and both Ms. Ollie and Gerald gave me opportunities I'll never forget.
Ms. Ollie gave me weekends on Glory 98.5, and Gerald trusted me my first week filling in on WYNN, even though I knew nothing about the music then. He remembered me from when my mom used to bring me to the station and live broadcasts. He knew I had passion for this business.
Gerald taught me that if you want your station to win, you have to be in the community. He always said the music and community news were the stars. He also taught me to "massage the music" don't just let the computer schedule it. Listen, feel it, and make sure every song fits.
Gerald and I became a team. We talked every day. He had ideas, and I helped bring them to life movie premieres, summer programs for kids, and so much more. When he went out on medical leave, he trusted me to step in, and I made sure we didn't miss a beat.
Without Gerald's guidance, I would not be where I am today. I'm going to miss my buddy, our talks, and those hand motions he'd make when he didn't want to hear what somebody said.
I know Gerald is in Heaven. He loved God, loved Gospel music, and always pushed me to keep improving.
Sleep well, my friend. Thank you for everything. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to give you your flowers publicly in 2022 on Glory 98.5 as "Black History Shaker" 🙏🏾
Sending condolences from the Lesane family. Gerald was a really great person to be around. He truly will be missed.
