Henrietta Pompey Bennett, 90, widow of Jonathan Bennett, died Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at her residence. She was born August 2, 1934 in Manning, SC. A daughter of the late Richard and Henrietta Jayroe Pompey.
Public viewing will be held 2:00 PM til 6:00 PM Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Hayes F. Samuels Sr. Memorial Chapel, 114 N. Church St., Manning, SC. Eastern Star rites will be held 6:00 PM.
Homegoing services for Mrs. Bennett will take place 11:00 AM Friday, May 2, 2025, from the Pinegrove AME Church, Greeleyville, SC. Burial will follow in the Churchyard Cemetery.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, April 30, 2025, from 4PM til 6PM and on Thursday, May 1, 2025, from 2PM til 5PM at her residence, 403 Gibbons St. Manning, SC

To Mrs Bennett's family, you did a wonderful job caring for your mom. Mrs Bennett was a lovely lady. She added so much to Pine Grove AME church with her beautiful voice and the wonderful plays she produced and we performed. She will truly be missed. Also as a found member of the RBD family reunion.
To my cousins, I share my condolences and prayers. Aunt Rett was an amazing and very loving woman and aunt. She will forever be remembered and honored for her beautiful spirit.
To My Cousins, May the blessings of the Lord be with you during this time and always. Aunt Henrietta was beautiful woman both inside and out. She was always encouraging us to do our best in whatever path we followed. She left a lasting legacy upon all of us. I will truly miss her, but just know she's gone but she's not forgotten.
