The greatest person to ever exist. You always pushed me in everything I said I wanted to do. You let me know that I could do anything I put my mind too even if I would talk myself out of a couple things . I'm sorry I'm just now writing to you, I was searching high and low for you thinking you had forgot me. I was hurt because I knew I would never find another great friend/ mentor like you. You took me under your wings while we were in college and never left my side. Our last text to each other was a week before you passed away. I found out a couple months later when someone told me to google your name. My heart has been broken since. I'm sorry I wasn't able to say my goodbyes in person, I'm sorry it's taking me so long to come here. I wanted to let your family know, they raised the best of the best . You were an angel , I'm reading everyone's message and I see you had the biggest impact on so many people . I'm pretty sure you're in heaven guiding me as well, I promise I've been staying out of trouble and on the right path . I still remember our sociology teacher calling you Corey because he could never get your name right lol and I still remember how I would still pick and call you Corey from time to time. It's like I still can't believe you're gone like I still have our conversations saved and I want text you. Thanks for always being you , every thing I do now is for us , I promise I won't let you down or give up.

I was in 2/30 with Bines. He would be my go-to guy whenever I needed help. We used to laugh so much and the memories I have of him will go on and his name will be spoken with respect. One last time Bines "hopped up out the Beeeenz, turn my swag on..." I love you brother

I met Patrick through the Scotland Memorial Foundation in Laurinburg. Patrick was a true warrior in every sense of the word, he championed for the underdog! He worked tirelessly in every project or event that he was involved in and made sure that everything was done correctly. He was a friend and was always willing to help! We had many conversations concerning health, the overall healthcare systems and ways to help those underserved. He was a true educator, highly intelligent and was a true master in his field! Just hearing about his death over the past week saddened me, but to know that he is in the arms of the Master brings joy because he is no longer suffering the ills of this world. You will never be forgotten! Rest well my friend!! Dorothy B. Tyson

Patrick, I cannot tell you how much I personally appreciate your energy, knowledge, passion to help make this world a better place. You have been an inspiration, a guide, a mentor to me and to so many. I am going to miss your face, your smile, and your presence. Thank you for being there to help support the Dillon County Collaborative Council, and for being a motivator to improve the health and opportunities for residents of Dillon County, as well as all of the other counties you served. You were a remarkable young man. I always enjoyed our visits and your positive spirit. You will be missed! Peace be with you. Sincerely, Lorene S. Godbold, LMSW, Assistant Director Access Health Pee Dee, Dillon County Collaborative Council.

I worked with Patrick in the Army in Iraq, sitting next to him for about 6 months, 12 hours a day while we completed tedious military office work. He was such a pleasant person to be around- very chipper with a great sense of humor who had a habit of 'busting out laughing.' A religious guy who enjoyed singing. I can't think of anyone having a negative thing to say about him. To have him pass so young is a real loss for this world. -Leif Drangsholt, Seattle

I was incredibly saddened to hear about this loss of a great champion for health in our state. We will miss Patrick greatly! Wishing his family comfort and peace during this difficult time. Sincerely, Melinda Merrell

To live in the hearts of those you leave behind is to never die. Love you Patrick.

Patrick was such a kind hearted person. I was fortunate to work with him at SMH. He cared so much for people and worked tirelessly to help improve the health of our communities. He worked day and night to do his best at his job while going to school to enhance his knowlege. He will be missed by many. I thank God for allowing our paths to cross. Flora McCook, Laurinburg,NC

My heart is so sad to hear of Patrick's passing! I met him of few years ago to work on some projects at Mcleod Dillon. He was such a joy to work with. He had a true passion and love for people. I will truly miss him.

Patrick, I will always remember your smile and your passion for helping people who needed it the most. You will be missed but your memory and the work you did will live on. Darlene Lynch, Director, Community Health Transformation-SCORH

I send my prayers and condolences to Patrick's family and friends. I had the opportunity and pleasure to work Patrick over the past few years and I must say it was shocking to hear about his passing. He was a good person to work with, to know, learn from, be in the company of, and he always made sure there was time for laughter. I learned quite a bit from Patrick and he made working alongside him easy-peasy. I will miss him here on earth but God needed him more in His Kingdom. It's just sad knowing he is gone. May you rest easy and peacefully Patrick. -Tamika T.

My Dearest Patrick, My heart is hurting as i write these words of sympathy and comfort. You were such a loving, kind and compassionate young man. I didn't know you very long, but you will certainly be missed in the community of Latta, SC. It was such a pleasure to have worked with you, we will all be a better person because you touched our lives. You have gone before us, we will continue to sing your song, trusting in the victory you have already won. Your battle is over, rest in peace and know that we love you with all our heart. The McDaniel Sisters Latta,SC

My Best Friend, days full of laughter, education, and counseling. The love you shown for your God Daughter, everyday your reminder to continue to educate her about health care. We never went a day without some form of communication. This is the most heartbreaking news I've had to deal with this year. You were a great person and I am so happy that we were able to share this friendship since grade school. I'll never forget you, your memory will always live on and I will remember all of our conversations.

I am broken-hearted for the great loss of a friend. Although our paths had crossed over the last two years, it wasn't until COVID 19 came and created needs in the community that Patrick and I shared some common goals and achieved some come goals. In this time he became my friend. If he called me, I knew he had a plan and was hoping my answer was "yes". It was becoming a joke, instead of "hello" I would say "yes, Patrick now what are the details". I spoke to him at least three times on Friday. The loss to the rural health community in SC is immeasurable. I hope his family knows that he planted seeds that have the potential to change generations. He accomplished more in 34 years than I have even thought about in 54. Well done my friend. Thank you for showing me that "it can be done". Thanks for exemplifying that it matters not who gets the credit as a long as the need is met. I cannot thank you enough for pouring in to my life. I will do my very best to make a difference in your honor every chance I get. Celeste J Campbell, RN BSN LNHA RALI Dillon County chair

Patrick provided the Northeast Rural Health Network leadership and greatly influenced healthcare matters in rural Pee Dee counties. I will miss my friend and colleague. Donny Brock, Chair NRHN Board of Directors

When I moved to North Carolina, I had no one but my fianc and my girls. I applied for this job and I wasn't sure what to anticipate. I prepared myself for my interview which would consist of a PowerPoint presentation and I went. You were there among two others. Well I got the call right before Christmas 2017 that I got the job. Of course I accepted the position, but I wasn't too sure what to expect but I jumped in with both feet. That was one of the best decisions I made in my life because I got to meet the most best human being ever!!. You would set tasks for me that I never said no to and for that I think we bonded well. You always knew how to handle all situations well, you were a great people person and I know no one can fill your shoes, literally speaking too lol. We would laugh, joke and tease everyday at work, you made work so enjoyable and fun. I saw the compassion you had for people in the way you pushed yourself in your career and the effect you had on people. I'm going to miss the random memes you'd send me and the pranks. I'll miss seeing your jolly face at the office and both of us singing to songs. You had a beautiful heart, always speaking of church and singing church songs. Or how you would tell me about your crazy adventures with your friends and how silly they'd get lol. I'm gonna worry about Leo, I know you'd tease and say take Leo (lol). I've been thinking all day, crying all day but I know the good Lord has taken you home. You are now there to help alongside him preparing heaven for the rest of us that will be coming home. You are one of his soldiers now, he chose the right one to help him with the big job ahead. Patrick you were my best friend on the East coast. Rest easy until we see one another again. Danielle Parker-Locklear aka Dani

Heaven for you, Bines! 17 March, 2008. Never Forget you

It was a privilege to have known Patrick and worked with him. Your Marlboro County Coordinating Council family will truly miss you. We will miss your energy your drive and your compassion for our community and our residents. We send to your family lots of hugs and prayers as they deal with the loss of such a precious life. Rest in peace our friend.

As I sit here trying to find the words to pay tribute to you, I'm at a loss. We met a few years ago, with both having the drive to promote programs in our communities that would help our people grow. Our last interactions were a text exchange, always the best way for us to keep in touch. I'm so thankful that the last words we spoke were of appreciation of each other and the friendship that grew out of mutual respect. My heart literally hurts. You lived life and through your actions encouraged others to do the same. You lived, not simply existed. Thank you for pushing me to grown into a better me. PB, fly high with the angels my friend. Heaven is surely a brighter place today. Brenda Petruccelli

I served with Patrick in the Army and we kept in contact all the way until last week. He was truly a great friend of mine. Always laughing and so upbeat. I will miss him so terribly. I remember a time he and I went to a comedy club in Shreveport, LA and we had the greatest time. The last time I saw him was in Charleston, SC and we had dinner and caught up from the years that had passed. Patrick was such a great person and friend. I will miss you, PB.

Death Leaves A Heartache No One Can Heal, Love Leaves A Memory No One Can Steal. Blessing To You And Your Family In This Time Of Sorry. Darlean Allen Caresouth Carolina

Patrick/PB/Dr. Bines, the last 5 years have been filled with so much joy in Scotland County when you joined our Laurinburg family. Working side by side with you, made you become by friend. You pushed me, educated me, instructed me, and tried your hardest to make me a better person, but some things you cant change. There are so many stories we have shared the last 5 years, and so many smiles and laughs I have reminded myself of. From Hurricane rescue calls, to Leo acting up, to my weekly talks that I needed, you were always there. You were the first I called on many situations, to ask for guidance, even when you never wanted to answer my calls and only text. I didn't think i would be here today writing on this guest book, but instead I keep looking at my phone waiting for you to respond. I will miss you PB. You were one of the greatest there ever was. I wont question why God called you home so early, but just know I miss you! you were my friend. A true friend that I could always count on. I cant wait to see you again! - Love forever, Brandi Cross - Flanagan
