Manning, SC
Ray Ontario Dickey, Sr., son of Irish Jean Dickey and the late Ray Anthony Thompson was born December 29, 1980 in Sumter, South Carolina.
He attended Manning High School and worked at Advance Auto Parts. After graduation, he found his passion for welding and he worked for several welding companies over the years. His last employment was at Sumter Metals in Sumter, South Carolina.
At an early age, he joined Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church where he was a member of the Manhood Training and the Youth Choir.
“Mookie”, as everyone called him, was a loving and caring person. He was always willing to do anything to help and always had a way to make you smile when you were down. His smile and sense of humor was his signature. Always putting others first before he thought of himself.
He was joined in holy matrimony to the former Jennifer Cantey and this union was blessed with three children. In Mookie’s eyes, family always came first and the unconditional love that he showed his family proved what type of man he was.
