Huline & Lee Goodman, Sorry for the loss of your love one. Please accept our sincere sympathy and prayers.

My deepest and most sincere condolences for Rheatis's family, and many friends.

I was lucky enough to get to know Rheatis when we worked together in Downtown Brooklyn. Her decades of dedication to her community are unprecedented. She had an incredibly kind heart and a knack for connecting with the people who needed it the most.

One rainy day Rheatis noticed I didn't have an umbrella. I returned to my desk after a meeting and a new umbrella was sitting there for me.

Rheatis and I met for breakfast at the local diner, and she came to my baby shower. Even after working together we stayed in touch through the holidays this year.

The advice she gave for motherhood was to really listen and pay attention to our children and their needs. I will miss her dearly.

Most of all I will her sweet voice. Her slight southern accent reminded me of my late mam, and that was a great comfort for me.

I am not surprised to see so many beautiful messages here.

All of my love to everyone who knew her.

Bethany

I am so honored to have worked alongside Rheatis. She had a quiet yet kind and strong presence and was beloved by all. I feel thankful to have known her. -Ariana Hellerman

Another link in the family chain is now missing! My cousin Rheatis and I grew up in the Jordan community where we played together as children, attended Jordan Elementary School and then on to Manning Training High school riding the bus every day into town! We were a close knit family back in the day and then we all went out separate ways after graduation. I only got to see her at family reunions and when we were in SC visiting family and friends. I never got to know her daughter or granddaughter. My heart goes out to both of you as well as her sister Lil and other family members.May the God of all comfort give peace to your soul and strength to your heart during this most difficult time. She will surely be missed by the family. Love, peace and sympathy. Your cousin Dot House-Henson and daughters, Ashley and Dana

She came ready to give praises to the Lord every Sunday and was a dedicated, loyal and faithful member. Sister Brown was the church secretary but was supportive of all auxiliaries in the church and willingly gave of her time. Her presence at Messiah Missionary Baptist Church has already and will continue to be missed. Sorrowfully Submitted, Rev. Dr. Julius A. Sloane and Messiah Missionary Baptist Church Family.

Don't think of her as gone away Her journey's just begun. Life holds so many facets, This earth is only one. Just think of her as resting, from the sorrow and tears, in place of warmth and comfort with no days or months or years. Think how she must be wishing that we could know today, that nothing but our sadness can really pass away. And think of her as living in the hearts of those she touched, For nothing loved is ever lost and she was loved so much. Thank you Sis Brown for your encouragement over the 53 years I have known you. Rest in peace Deaconess Bette Durham

I had the pleasure working with Rheatis for about 5 years and in that time we grew close.

We spoke about our individual visits to the Carolinas and I often shared pictures of my children and their milestones in life. We both liked to order Shirley Temples with a cherry at our company events. Rheatis was such a pleasure to work with and so respected and loved. She was not only a colleague but a bonus grandmother in my eyes. Sleep in Peace RB. Condolence from the Knox Family
