Rosa Amelia Felder Bowman, daughter of the late Jannie Jones Felder and Moses Felder, Sr. was born July 29, 1932 in Summerton, South Carolina. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Inez Pearson and Flossie Felder and two brothers, Moses Felder, Jr. and Thomas Felder. Amelia attended the Clarendon Public Schools in Summerton, South Carolina. She was a faithful member of Spring Hill AME Church where she served as an Usher, on the Mother’s Board and Missionary Board. She also was a sister of the Spring Hill Chapter #263 Order of the Eastern Star. She was employed many years as a factory worker at Sunbeam. Amelia enjoyed her family, friends and church. She loved knitting, sewing, cooking and baking. Her cornbread, chocolate cake, basically EVERYTHING was delicious! She was joined in holy matrimony to the late Lionel Bowman, Sr. and this union was blessed with four children. On Tuesday, October 5, 2021, Rosa Amelia Bowman departed this earthly life. She leaves to cherish her precious memory, her children: Lionel (Emily) Bowman,Jr. Edwardsville, IL, Edsel (Joann) Bowman, Goose Creek, SC, John (Hestine) Bowman, Stroudsburg, PA and Okereda Choice, Sumter, SC; two sisters, Celestine Felder Johnson, Summerton, SC and Mary (Chris) Simms, Baltimore, MD; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Aiken, Wilmington, NC and Rosa Lee Felder, Baltimore, MD; 18 grandchildren; several great and great, great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Public viewing was held Friday, October 8, 2021 from 4:00PM til 6:00PM at Hayes F. Samuels Sr., Memorial Chapel, 114 N. Church Street, Manning, SC.

Graveside services were held 3:00PM Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Spring Hill AME Church Cemetery, 4309 Bill Davis Road, Summerton, SC. Minister Joshua Howell, officiated.

Due to COVID-19 guidelines, the family did not receive visitors.
