I met Clarence while working as a narcotics inv. I could see the compassion and good will in him as he adjudicated his cases. He offered inspiration along with sentences to get the best out of everyone. His loss will never b replaced. He saw good in everyone.

My deepest condolences to Barbara and all of the James Family. Laverne was a great friend and will certainly be missed. We were friends as children and that friendship lasted until he transitioned. Love and prayers for all of you who knew and loved him 🙏🏿♥️

I'm grateful for the time spent on visits with my Uncle Vern. The wisdom he shared with me as a nephew was timeless and insightful. I learned important life lessons from observing him with the general public and other family members.

His dogmatic personality included elements of hospitality, kindness and a deep connection with the concerns of others.
