Deacon Willie Floyd “Nick” Holliday, son of the late Sept Holliday and Effie Holliday was born July 4, 1949 in Paxville, South Carolina. He was preceded in death by one brother, Marion Holliday, two sisters: Janie Coleman and Susie Anderson and one grandson, Shamari Major.
He received his formal education at Paxville School. After moving to Manning, South Carolina, he attended Manning Training School. Years later, he moved to Boston, Massachusetts and became employed in the dietary department at Massachusetts General Hospital. Shortly after, he attended General Dynamics Apprentice School and became a welder. Later he attended ECPI of Boston Massachusetts studying Electronic Computer Programming. Once he moved back to South Carolina, he continued to work as a welder at Interlake Material Handling Division.
Early in life, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and joined the Church of God #2 under the leadership of Apostle Raymond Holliday. He served faithfully as the Head Deacon for over twenty years. Deacon Willie Floyd Holliday later became a member of Deliverance Outreach Ministries of Clarendon County, under the leadership of Bishop Allen Conyers. He served faithfully as the Head Deacon for over ten years.
He was joined in holy matrimony August 12, 1989 to Eva Mae Holliday until her death August 9, 2018.
On Friday, September 10, 2021, Deacon Willie Floyd Holliday answered his call to be with the Lord at McLeod Health Clarendon in Manning, South Carolina.
His memory will be forever cherished by four daughters: Tiffany Holliday, Manning, SC, Aniscia (Willie) Benjamin-Moore, Jamaica Plain, MA, Tania (Shatek) Major, Virginia Beach, VA and Tawanda (Wil) Dawns, Warrenton, VA; one son, Lawrence (Norell) Burton, Jr., Leland, NC; adopted son, John Edward Merchant, Manning, SC; nine grandchildren, Michael Prince, Jr., Monique (William) Prince-Sylvester, Alicia Prince, Aaron Benjamin, Lauryn Dawns, Justin Dawns, Madison Burton, Jalen Major, Haven Major; two great grandchildren, Jaedon Prince and Liam Prince-Sylvester; nieces and nephews, Patricia (David) Wigfall, Renwick Wayne Holliday, Donta Holliday and Anthony Holliday; five sisters-in-law, Joan White, Mary Palmer, Rebecca Epps, Thelma Cantey and Ella Jane White; two special friends, Deacon Richard Lee and Deacon Jerry Brailsford; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Graveside services for Mr. Holliday were held 11:00AM Saturday , September 18, 2021 at Deliverance Outreach Ministries of Clarendon County. Bishop Allen Conyers, officiated.
Due to COVID-19 guidelines, the family did not receive friends.
