Obituary For Cassandra Clelland

Cassandra (Sandy) Carroll Clelland, 78, of Grafton, WV, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 18, 2025 in San Antonio, TX. She was born in Clarksburg, WV on June 2, 1947.

She is preceded in death by her beloved grandparents Homer M. Parsons and Nell (Philips) Parsons who raised her from birth until age 8, her parents Donald S. “Don” and Colleen M. (Parsons) Knotts, former husband and lifelong friend, Ted Clelland, one sister, Betty Laulis, two brothers: Don Knotts and wife Dorothy, and Ronnie “Homer” Knotts; brothers-in-law: Don “Kitzy” Kitzmiller and Ward Laulis.

She is survived by two children, Kellie J. Clelland and wife, Roxanne Tamez of San Antonio, TX and son, Michael R. Clelland and wife, Iola of Clements, MD; one granddaughter, Emily Clelland also of Clements, MD; one sister Polly Kitzmiller of Grafton; sister-in-law: Mary Lou Knotts of Philippi. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Sandy was a graduate of Grafton High School, and she retired from the FBI in Clarksburg, WV. She enjoyed being active with her daily walks outdoors, volunteering in the community, and assisting anyone in need.

She was an excellent cook and was well known for her sour dough bread, pepperoni rolls, and Christmas cookies and candies that she generously shared with numerous family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date in Grafton, WV.
