Sister Annie Laura “Tootsie” Peak Sis. Annie Laura “Tootsie” Peak was born on August 26, 1936, to the late Ethel Royal and Andrew Royal. She peacefully transitioned from this life on February 1, 2026, surrounded by love and cherished memories.
She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as five brothers and five sisters.
Sister Peak was a faithful and longtime member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church, where she remained devoted until her illness prevented her from attending.
In her professional life, she dedicated many years of service as an employee at the Owens-Illinois paper mill and later shared her talents as a head chef for the Lowndes County School System, where she nourished countless students with both her meals and her care. Sis. Annie Laura “Tootsie” Peak will be remember for her strength, kindness, and unwavering love for her family and community. Her legacy lives on through the generations she poured into and the lives she touched.
Sister Peak was a devoted mother and she leaves to cherish her loving memory seven children: John (Ruth) Roberts of Valdosta, GA; Calvin (Diane) Roberts of Valdosta, GA; Lynn (Gay) Roberts of Warner Robins, GA; Patricia (Willie) Woods of Valdosta, GA; Carolyn Scott of Washington State; LaDina Burney of Valdosta, GA; and Andrea Brown of Centerville, GA., one devoted sister Patricia (Stanley) McCloud of Philadelphia, PA. She was blessed with 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren, one sister-in-law Rosland (Billy) Leaphart, and a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Home going services for Mother Annie “Tootsie” Peak will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 2:00 P. M. at Morning Star Baptist Church Rev. Hooker is the pastor, and Pastor W. C. Morgan will officiate. The burial will follow in the Pallbearer Cemetery.
