A Farewell to My Cousin, Jamarion
My dear cousin Jamarion, It's hard to find the words to say goodbye. My heart is heavy, but my faith reminds me that this isn't the end—it's only a temporary separation. Though I wish you could have stayed with us longer, I trust that you are now resting in the presence of our Lord and Savior, where there is no more pain, no more sorrow, and no more tears. I want you to know that I will do my best to honor your legacy. I promise to be there for your son, to love him, encourage him, and remind him of the incredible man his father was. I'll help him know your strength, your smile, and the love you had for him. He will never have to wonder if his family is standing beside him, because we will be. I also promise to look after your brothers. We'll carry one another through the difficult days ahead, pray together, and keep our family united. As Scripture says, "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." (Galatians 6:2) That is what I intend to do. Your life has left an imprint on all of us. We will cherish the memories, speak your name with love, and hold tightly to the hope found in Jesus Christ. Because of Him, death does not have the final word. His promise in John 11:25 gives us comfort: "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live." Until we meet again, rest peacefully in the arms of the Father. We'll continue the race here on earth, keeping our eyes fixed on God and living in a way that would make you proud. I love you, cousin. Thank you for every memory, every laugh, and every moment we shared. Your body may be absent, but your spirit will never be forgotten. Until we see each other again in God's eternal kingdom. With all my love,
Your cousin, Desmond
