Rosalind Deshon Russell was born to the late Robert Russell and the late Barbara Russell Byrd on January 1, 1959 in Tampa, Florida.
At a young age, she and her parents returned to Valdosta Ga where she accepted Christ at an early age and joined Morning Star Baptist Church under the then leadership of Rev. Calvin Johnson. At Morning Star, she served as a former member of the choir, member of the Baptist Training Union and a dedicated member of the Usher board.
She was a graduate of Valdosta High School Class of 1976. After which she attended Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia and graduated from Valdosta State College. Later, she moved to Boston, Massachusetts where she held many secretarial jobs. In 2005, she return to Valdosta..
She leaves to cherish her memories and celebrate her life, her beloved son: Robert Rashun Russell; Her siblings: Joan Callaway(Calvin) and Antonio Russell (Addie) of Valdosta, GA, Paulette Russell Moses of Boston, MA, and stepsister, Robert Lee Russell of Orlando, FL; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends: Antonio, LaTron, Latoya, Michael, Jared, and Robert and many more.
Home going services for Rosalind Russell will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 10:00 A. M. at Morning Star Baptist Church Rev. Naaman Hooker is the pastor and Dr. W. C. Morgan will officiate and burial will follow in the Pallbearer Cemetery. Public viewing will be held on Friday from 11:00 A.M. til 7:00 P.M. The body will lie in state at the church from 9:00 until time of the service.
