A Time to Be Born

She continued her education at Rosenwald Junior College, earning an Associate of Arts degree. She served as an educator in the Lowndes County School System for over three decades, working at Pine Grove Elementary and Moulton Branch Elementary. Annie loved sewing, crocheting, gardening, baking her famous holiday cookies, and studying God’s word.
Christian Experience Annie accepted Christ at a young age at St. John Baptist Church in Panama City, Florida. After marrying, she and her husband moved to Kansas and later returned to Florida. When her husband was stationed at Moody Air Force Base, the family relocated to Valdosta. In August 1984, Annie united with New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, where she served faithfully for over forty years. Her roles included church secretary, Sunday School teacher, member of the Women’s Mission, choir member, and Deaconess. She helped form the church’s first Youth Choir and was always willing to serve the Lord with joy and dedication.
