Mother: The late Ellen Parker Bookhart
Demised: Wednesday November 26, 2025 in Covington, Georgia.
Ms. Harriett was the baby of her family, and she was preceded in death by all her siblings.
Ms. Carter was united in holy matrimony to the late Floyd Carter, and they lived in Detroit, Michigan. She was a nurse at Detroit General Hospital and after retirement they relocated to Hahira, Georgia.
She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Hahira, Georgia until her health declined, and she relocated to Covington, Georgia with her cousin Ms. Jean Phillips, who became her caregiver.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her step son Lewis Carter of Miramar, Florida, and her cousin and caretaker Jean Phillips of Hahira, Georgia, two special nieces Rebecca and Ellen both of Panama City, Florida, and a host of other relative and caring friends.
A celebration of life for Sister Harriett Carter will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at 11:00 A. M. at Scott and Roberts Chapel with Rev. Norman Edwards officiating; the burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery.
