Obituary For Victor Tooley
February 26, 1960 – August 19, 2025
Victor Antonio Tooley was born on February 26, 1960, in Valdosta, Georgia, to Evelyn Tooley Smith and the late Clifford Thomas. From the very beginning, Victor carried with him a creative spirit, a gentle strength, and a deep love for his family and community.
Victor attended Valdosta High School, where his talent for drawing and craftsmanship first began to shine. He had an incredible gift for carpentry—creating with his hands what others could only imagine. Whether it was building something beautiful from scratch or sketching something with precision and soul, Victor brought artistry and care to everything he touched.
Victor was also a man of deep faith. He knew the Bible well and lived by its teachings, allowing his spiritual foundation to guide him in how he loved, served, and encouraged others. His faith was not just something he spoke about—it was evident in how he treated people and stood strong through life’s challenges.
Family was the heart of Victor’s world. He was a devoted father to his four children: LaToya Tooley, Victoria Mackey, Kevin Mackey, and Benjamin Mackey. He poured his love, wisdom, and values into them, and his legacy lives on through their lives. Victor was also a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren—Skylar, Jaela, Zoie, Yahmoriah, Jaelyn, Jalyse, Ja'Leia, Ja'Khi, Ja'Lani, and Ja'Kobe—each one a shining light in his life.
Victor’s presence was a blessing to his family. He is survived by his loving mother, Evelyn Tooley Smith; his sisters, Sandra Tooley and Pat Camion; and his brothers, Reginald Tooley (Cynthia Tooley), Edgar Cornelius Tooley, and Ronnie Smith. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Willie James “Tony Tooley” Smith, Jr. and like a brother Mr. Louie Gordon, Sr.
He is also survived by his dear aunts Eva Rucker and Minnie Bridges and by a host of nieces, nephews, loving cousins, and cherished friends who held him close.
To know Victor was to know a man of quiet strength, immense talent, and deep compassion. He lived a life rooted in humility, creativity, and love. His hands may have built many things, but his legacy was built in the lives he touched, the family he nurtured, and the memories he leaves behind.
Victor Antonio Tooley departed this life on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit, his work, and his love will forever remain in our hearts.
A celebration of life for Mr. Victor Tooley will be held on Saturday, August 30, at 11:00 A. M. at St. Paul A.M.E. Church, Rev. James McKenzye is the pastor, and Presiding Elder Billy McFadden will officiate, and the burial will follow in the Rocky Hill Church Cemetery.

May you rest in Heaven, my old school mate. we go all the way back to the 3rd grade, at South Street Elm.
It is with deepest sympathy I mourn the passing of my dear brother/friend Vic. He was a great brother to know and cherish great memories with him and the family. Love you my Brother and will deeply miss your presence. Our prayers are with the family at this time. Couldn't be there headed to a family service out of town myself. Love you all. Be Strong. Bless.

Where do i start? Alpha,and omega. The first the last the beginning and the end::it starts with god, it ends with the father, we have no say, just memories. So im grateful for the time we shared, this was ( My )friend and im truly gonna miss him. Victor was special in his own unique way but i valued his uniqueness. Thank you for helping my son out , it went a long way and the family thank you. I admired the spiritual part of you as well , we lack the understanding of the word not knowing thats our biggest supporter. Yet we judge!!! But today lay a man that new it .
