Harold Gene Corbin

I remember "Mr. Harold" every time I go through the front door at One Monument Avenue on my way to and from work. I will keep him alive in my memory by solving everyday problems inspired by the practical wisdom, humor and elegant kindness he had, and taught me how to use day after day.

I looked forward every morning to the warm greeting Harold would always give. There always plenty of hugs, kisses and smiles. He will truly be missed.

Every morning, without fail, Harold gave me a morning hug and a kiss on the cheek here at OMA. Never has their been such a wonderful and kind soul. My heart goes out to everyone in his family.

I got to know Harold and I loved his spunk, his grit, and his kindness. He is definitely missed. He showed so much love and was greatly loved in return.

Harold was such an icon at OMA - ever present to welcome visitors and tenants to OMA. We are all grateful for his many many years of greetings, helpfulness and caring. God's blessings to his family!

Harold was a big part of our VCPI family. He was the first to greet each of us every morning with his big smile, bigger laugh, and often a hug. He will be forever missed. - All of us at VCPI (at One Monument)

Mr. H as I've always referred to him on my way in to work at One Monument, was such a courteous man that took pride in his work and very thoughtful to those he served. My prayers go to his family and loved ones. Keisha-Ann R.

Our hearts have been so full since you passed Cousin Harold. You were such a huge part of our family. Our Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons were full of fun because of your presence. You stood in the gap after our grandparents died, playing your dutiful role as an elder Cousin. Rest well, you have earned it. We will not be able to attend the service for Mr. Harold, but welcome this opportunity to express our sympathy to his family. Mr. Harold was a Stuart Circle icon. Those of us living in The Fan have waived to the gregarious man who smiled and said good morning, as he rested his arm on the railing outside. We have waived from our cars while he waived from the front stoop at One Monument. If you stopped to chat for a minute, you were rewarded with a good story or two. Mr. Harold will be forever remembered for those stories! Rest in peace my friend. Judy Jamison

I have so many good memories of Harold from One Monument. He was the first person to tell the we had gotten The 9 11 terrorist, that the temperature fell first thing in the morning and he was always kind to my Sadie. And he continued to recognize me after I left. He was just wonderful and and I was so sad to see of his passing.

Mrs Corbin, Ms Lillie and Sharon, Harold was the nicest and most genuine person. He was always so caring and helpful and quite the gentleman. I will miss his smile and manner here at One Monument. He was loved and respected by all of us, including our pets. Chief and Honcho, my dogs, have missed his kindness and generous gifts of doggy biscuits. He was a gift to our community here and will be in my heart always.

Mrs. Corbin, Ms Lillie and Sharon words cannot be said how I feel at this moment but my prayers are with you all. Mr. Corbin was truly the example of a wonderful husband, father, son and friend and he could make a mean chicken salad. I will miss his wisdom, friendship and love for all persons he would meet. I met Harold years ago in the catering business. He was also a member of Second Baptist Church Idlewood Ave where he sat in front of me for many years. Harold was a good man and was always very pleasant to talk with. He will be missed. My prayers go out to Harold's wife Emily and the rest of his family. My God watch over you doing this difficult time.

Mr. Harold was a perfect gentleman, a wonderful mentor and a "dapper dan" who will surely be missed.
