God blessed you to live a full lifetime, 3 score and 10, and then another 1/3 of a lifetime & for that I praise him, because he gave us 8 years. Your son, Cousin Mackie & your 90th birthday celebration was the first portal connecting me to the Oakes clan. My Grandfather Boy Baby adored you & G-Auntie Serlene, as do I. Mother Irene, I cherish every moment that I got to spend time around you and your kids/grand-kids. Mother Smith, you love Light, you love Spirit, you love Heart, and I admire the way you would always talk about the empowerment and advancement of blacks and women. You are truly a big deal to me. You birthed my brother in law, big brother, and god-daddy Tommy and I am sure a ton of your wisdom, intellect and heart lives in his very soul. He has been so good to me all these years as well as you Mother Irene. I was so very young, but I have a fond memory of me and Reggie hanging out with Tommy for the weekend and Tommy checking in on his mom (and our precious Nicole) to make sure mom was okay and seeing if mom needed anything. I mean anything! That is when you lived off Mountain Road. You were so gracious and so appreciative. You've always carried yourself like an admirable woman full of wisdom. Mother Irene, thank you for showing me how wonderfully respectable the human soul can be while living on Earth. Rest in peace you dear Daughter of God the Father. I love you so much! Roderick
