To the Spurlock family I met Mr Spurlock from my late mother Audrey Page in which I would often hear of times and memories from Roanoke. When I finally had the opportunity to talk and meet him in so many walks of the community what a pleasure and a joy.

One of the first couple Andy and I met when we moved to Richmond. Andy joined First African Baptist Church because of James. I still can't believe Spurlock allowed my husband to sing in the men's choir. James and I shared graduating from the same college, NCA&T - Greensboro, NC. He will be remembered.
