James W. Moore, 56, of Chesterfield, a retired veteran of the U. S. Army, died May 15, 2021. He was preceded in death by his father, James Moore. Surviving are his mother, Dessie Cooper Moore; two sisters, Donna Moore and Chevelle Moore Jones; two brothers, Barry and Gregory Moore; two nieces, Devonna Lewis and Savannah Moore; nephew, Alexander Jones; other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd., where viewing will be held Friday, May 21 from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Scott's Chapel, 116 E. Brookland Park Blvd. Rev. Daniel Cooper, officiating. Interment will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 25 at Virginia Veterans Cemetery Amelia.
Hi Cuz, So glad you were here with us. When so many would have given up. I remember when I was dating a guy, and you watched how he sat in the car on the phone while I moved everything from out of the car by myself as he sat there. You told me he was not the one for me and how I gentleman should treat his lady. I was embarrassed. And needless to say, you were right. I remember you were one of my handsomest cousins. I remember you spitting tobacco and how I use to hit your legs when I was little till you'd pick me up. It was great reconnecting with the family after your going- away celebration. Thanks, Cuz.
