Jasper Banks, 80, of Midlothian, Virginia, peacefully passed away on December 18th surrounded by loved ones. Jasper Banks was born on June 6th, 1940 to Johnny and Elizabeth Banks in the city of Chuckatuck, Virginia. After Jasper graduated from Crestwood High School in 1962, he pursued a degree in Journalism at Virginia Union University. After graduation, he worked in digital imagery/film processing for over 37 years. Jasper was passionate about photography and loved what he did for a living. In 1964, he met Hester Moore, on the campus of Virginia Union University. Jasper and Hester, married in 1968, and went on to have two children, Cheryl and John. Jasper retired in 2006 after 37 years in the field of photography. While retired, Jasper had time to pursue his hobbies of tennis, dancing, and bowling. Jasper was predeceased by his parents, Johnny and Elizabeth, his brothers Clifton and Linwood. He is survived by his wife, Hester, and his two children, Cheryl and John; grandchildren: Keith Shorter, II., John Banks, Jr., Kayla Shorter, Autumn Banks, and Heavenly Banks; siblings: Curtis Williams (Bernice), Thomas Banks, Hezekiah Banks, Sr., Francis Thomas (James), and Barbara Banks; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd. Services will be held at Scott Chapel, 116 E. Brookland Park Blvd. on December 30th at 2:00 PM.
